Mangaka Kazuhiro Fujita is back in the headlines thanks to the upcoming adaptation of Karakuri Circus (Le Cirque de Karakuri).
The adventure series follows Masaru Saiga, a young boy who dreams of becoming a puppeteer. However, Masaru is targeted by conspiracies after inheriting 18 billion yen following his father’s death. Narumi Katou (a kung-fu master) and Shirogane (a puppetmaster) offer to protect Saiga from the dangers he is facing.
Karakuri Circus is Fujita’s second hit manga, following Ushio to Tora. The manga ran for 43 volumes in Weekly Shonen Sunday and it’s now getting an anime adaptation! Studio VOLN (Ushio to Tora) is reuniting much of the staff that worked on the Ushio to Tora adaptation.
Basically, it’s going to feature Fujita’s signature 90’s art style and pacing. The 36-episode adaptation will debut in October.
